The BIG Green Nightmare!

Found this little beauty at the flea market. It was in rough shape but it had a great shape.....beautiful lines and carvings. The olive green paint job with a streaky stain wiped haphazardly over it was in need of a serious make over.

Some of the lower drawers were missing trim. I yanked off the remaining trim only to find the missing trim in one of the drawers minutes later....ugh! Not happy and big lesson learned! I went ahead and filled the gaps left by the yanked off trim with Quik Wood, love this stuff, and sanded it smooth.

Sanded, primed and painted in fresh, light colors....
I decided to paint up a chair to go with it but did not feel like draggin it our for a photo op.

What a difference paint can make.

Doing Jack

Everybody is doing Jack...painting Jack that is.

I will not be doing another Jack any time soon. What a complete drag taping off. Seemed so easy when my blogging friends did it. It was not.

Here's what I started with...
See him sitting in front of the desk? This pic was taken for bragging purposes on my FB page. Yup, I have no shame. What a great junking day that was :)
Back to Jack. There was a bit of cursing involved but it is done. I will tell you this, when I see those awesome dressers w/ UJ I appreciate them so much more.

Paris Provincial

It's been a while. I've been out here sweating in NJ painting but took a blogging hiatus for a bit. Hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

Here's a set I found at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. I love that it's small scale so it's perfect for a young girl or nursery. Pretty dingy but overall in good shape.
Everything got sanded down w/ the orbital then sprayed w/ Kilz primer.

Some of the pulls were broken so I puttied up the top drawer holes w/ Quik Wood and drilled new center holes.

Going w/ a Paris theme and I'll tell ya, I had a blast painting this up.

I'm going to put it in my Etsy shop and CL and hope it finds it's way to a little girl who will love it as much as I loved painting it.
